Dogs for Adoption (Santa Barbara)
at Dog Adoption & Welfare Group (DAWG)

The following dogs are waiting for a home at the Dog Adoption and Welfare Group (DAWG). DAWG is a private, non-profit, no-kill dog rescue organization, owned and operated by volunteers, serving the lost and abandoned dogs of Santa Barbara. The kennels are located at 5480 Overpass Rd (off Patterson Avenue just beyond the County Shelter).

All dogs are on K9 Advantix flea/tick/mosquito protection, are spayed/neutered, have all current shots, a HomeAgain microchip, and come with new adopter consultation with DAWG's trainer if needed.

Adoption Hours: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm., other times by appointment. Dogs can be viewed every day during business hours. For more information, email: dawgnsb@yahoo.com, call (805) 681-0561 or visit the Web site.

The Paw Wall	Volunteers Needed
Immortalize your dog by placing his/her paw print on a ceramic tile which you can personalize with lots of colorful paint. The tile is then placed on the "Paw Wall" at the DAWG Shelter. All proceeds go toward more kennels for shelter dogs. Call 2000 Degrees at (805) 882-1817 for more information. MEET MAX!

5 yr. old neutered male beagle/corgi mix, 20 lbs. Foster mom says he’s a model citizen, affectionate, well behaved, good housemanners, knows commands, plays nicely with other dogs, and is gentle on leash.

MEET TREVOR!

1 ½ yr. old neutered male boxer mix, 55 lbs. Affectionate, eager to please, gentle, playful pup. Good with kids. Enjoys the company of other dogs, especially the girls. Well mannered, fine family dog.

MEET MISSY!

6 month old female lab/pit mix, expected to reach 45 – 50 lbs. Happy, sociable, lively, playful, wants to sit in your lap. Fine family dog for an active family.

MEET LAMB CHOP!

1-2 yr. old neutered male poodle mix 10 lbs. Shy at first, but affectionate and happy once he knows he’s safe. Needs a gentle adult household.

MEET GOLDIE!

6-7 yr. old female Pomeranian, 9 lbs. Cheerful, affectionate, likes to sit in your lap. No small kids please.

MEET FRANKIE!

4-5 yr. male Shih Tzu, 13 lbs. Friendly boy who loves to go for walks and cuddle. He enjoyed being petted by some kids visiting DAWG.

MEET MEGAN!

2 yr. old spayed female black and tan Terrier/Chi mix, 12 lbs. Sweet, playful, happy, eager to please little girl would be a wonderful addition to a nice family home.

MEET JACKSON!

3-4 yr. old neutered male blue merle aussie with blue eyes, 55 lbs. Social with other dogs. Needs to be an integral part of an active family.

MEET JACK!

2-3 yr. old neutered male German Shepard/lab mix with sharpei ears, 60 lbs. High energy friendly pup who plays nicely with other dogs and loves people. Smart, learns quickly, a great family dog.

MEET BILLIE JEAN!

5-6 yr. old spayed female border collie, 45 lbs. Smart, active, but still likes to sit on your feet and lean against your leg. Excellent housemanners, she is currently DAWG’s office dog. She tends to be dominant, so needs a person(s) smarter and more dominant than she is. Prior herding breed experience helpful.

MEET PADDY!

7-8 yr. old rough coated Jack Russell terrier, 15 lbs. Smart, curious, good with other dogs. Needs lot of mental and physical stimulation. Presently in foster care where he has demonstrated exemplary housemanners. Contact DAWG for more information.

MEET MARGIE!

Margie is a 3 yr. old spayed female pit bull terrier mix, 53 lbs. She prefers having her own yard at DAWG with her own dog house and toys to being in a kennel. Margie is affectionate, smart, loves car rides and Dog Park (tho she must be kept on a leash). Margie is a devoted, loyal girl, great company, good running partner, and fine TV watching and reading partner. Prior pit experience preferred.

MEET JOJO!

2 yr. old spayed female cattle dog mix, 50 lbs. Jojo is smart, curious, very high energy and needs an active home with people who will be active and interactive with her. She would be a great running/biking/hiking partner or a Flyball or Agility champion. She plays nicely with other dogs who play nicely.

MEET OLIVER (AKA PIERRE)!

8-10 yr. old neutered male toy poodle, 9 lbs. Appears purebred. Blind but uses his other senses to do most everything the other dogs in his foster home do including using the dog door. MEET GEORGIA!

2-3 yr. old spayed female German shepherd/yellow lab mix, 60 lbs. Cautious of new things and people, then wants to sit in your lap once she knows you. Loves to go on walks, heals nicely on leash.

MEET WICKET!

3 yr. old female Chihuahua , 4.6 lbs. Can be timid, so needs a quiet calm adult only household with at least one person who likes having a little dog in his/her lap. Gets along with cats.

6 yr. old neutered male black lab, 65 lbs. Spent most of his life in a loving home until his guardians could no longer take care of him. Everything you could want in a lab: Loyal, happy, sociable, excellent house manners, sweet disposition. In foster care, contact DAWG for info.

5 month old male Aussie. In foster care while he recovers from a broken leg. Can’t wait to get his cast off and run around. Contact DAWG for info.

MEET ABBEY!

Pit/shepherd mix with a lab disposition born 11-17-06. Energetic, friendly, good with kids and dogs. Obedience school graduate, crate trained. Needs active family. In foster care, contact DAWG or her foster home at 805-722-7761 or 805-896-2132 for info.

2 yr. old neutered male lab mix, 60 lbs. Very high energy, great running and biking partner. Has had some training. Adores people and enjoys rough play with other dogs. Fine family dog for active family.

8-10 yr. old spayed female Pekingese, 10 lbs. A real character, lively, feisty, independent, yet still enjoys a nap in your lap. Needs adult household.

4 yr. old spayed female border collie mix 55 lbs who lost her home when her guardian was badly injured. She is loyal, affectionate, athletic, smart, good with other dogs, knows many commands. She is a dog who needs lots of mental and physical stimulation.

3-5 yr. old male Pomeranian/Spitz with silky blond hair, 15 lbs. A sweet boy who loves human attention and human laps. A fine little companion for an adult household.

MEET DIAMOND!

7 yr. old spayed female border collie mix, 50 lbs. Sociable, well mannered, knows commands, good with dogs and with kids. An active dog who needs to be an integral part of an active household.

MEET DIXIE!

5-7 yr. old female mini-doxie, mix, 13 lbs. A snuggly little girl who would do well in someone’s lap. In foster care, contact DAWG for more information.

MEET MYRNA!

3 yr. old spayed female Chihuahua mix, 9 lbs. In foster care with 2 dogs and 2 cats. Goes everywhere with foster mom. Extremely dog friendly, never met a dog she didn't want to play with. Call her foster mom, Marsha at 805-569-3018 for more information.

6-8 yr. old neutered male Chihuahua (mix?), 5 lbs. Enjoys his little dog kennel mates, but is happiest being held by humans. He needs a quiet adult household.

5-6 yr. old spayed female mini-doxie (mix?), 12 lbs. Sweet, affectionate, loves to sit in your lap and be petted. Enjoys the company of other dogs.

MEET BONNIE LASS!

2-3 yr. old dimunitive spayed female Aussie mix, white with black trim, 25 lbs. Energetic, playful, sociable, smart. Plays happily with other dogs. Needs an active family.

MEET RHODA!

3 yr. old spayed female Rottweiler, 76 lbs. Sweet gentle girl, playful, happy, sociable, easily bribed with a dog biscuit. Basks in human attention.

MEET PRINCESS!

2 yr. old female hound/lab(?) mix, 50 lbs. Happy, exuberant, playful, affectionate, quick to learn and eager to please. Great family dog.

MEET BAILEY!

2 yr. old spayed female Chihuahua mix, 6 lbs. Timid of new things and people, very sweet with the people she knows. Lap sized. Needs quiet adult home.

MEET MAGGIE

Year old spayed female border collie mix, 50 lbs. High energy, affectionate, very smart, good with kids. A fine family dog for an active family.

MEET BRYCE!

BRYCE is a 3 yr old neutered male Gordon setter/aussie or possibly rottie, mix, 65 lbs. He is good with other dogs, well behaved, has a sweet temperament. He is ultra-loyal to his family and can be somewhat protective. DAWG’s trainer will help with this behavior if needed.

MEET MARTHA!

5 yr. old spayed female Aussie/Shepherd mix, 48 lbs. Attentive, well behaved, knows basic commands. Ideal placement would be attached to a person's hip.

MEET SUNSHINE!

4 yr. old spayed female pit mix, 55 lbs. Affectionate and snuggly, loyal and smart. Award-winning running partner. Great companion. Does not enjoy the company of other dogs.

MEET BUZZ!

Handsome Buzz needs to be courted, wooed, and charmed with treats, toys and sweet words by a dog savvy person who can help him recover from his experiences with the darker side of humans. Buzz needs an adult household that will respect his boundaries and help him grow. Buzz is active, playful, and would make a good companion for another, easy-going dog.
